Borno Central Senator, Kashim Shettima has reacted to his emergence as the Vice Presidential Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Recall that Bola Tinubu, APC presidential candidate had announced Shettima as his running mate.
Writing on his Facebook page on Monday, Shettima who met Tinubu in Abuja, thanked him for picking him as his running mate.
He said he was visiting children orphaned by Boko Haram in Borno when news of his selection broke.
“Thank you for the trust Sir Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Prior to the official announcement of my nomination as the running mate to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. My intention was to visit 2 orphanages in Maiduguri (the Abdulateef Zabadne Orphanage Foundation and the Future Assured College) to celebrate with the orphans in the spirit of the Sallah festival.”
“In fact, the announcement came in while I was mingling and trying to put a smile on the faces of the kids who mostly became orphans as a result of Boko Haram insurgency,” he added.
