Raya has agreed personal terms with Arsenal ahead of a possible move from Brentford, according to reports.
The Bees want £40m to part ways with the Spaniard and the Gunners must now negotiate a fee with the west Londoners.
Arteta was quizzed about the reports linking Raya with a switch to the Emirates on Wednesday following Arsenal’s 1-1 draw against Monaco.
‘You know that I’m not going to talk about any player that is not here, I’m sorry,’ Arsenal boss Arteta said with a huge smile.
There have been suggestions that Raya would replace Ramsdale as the No.1 ‘keeper at the Emirates should he move to north London – but it is thought that Arteta will continue with the former Sheffield United man as his first choice.
Ramsdale produced a heroic performance against Monaco on Wednesday, helping Arsenal lift the Emirates Cup with his save in the penalty shootout enough to secure the trophy.
‘He was really good,’ Arteta said about Ramsdale.
‘I think he was really composed in the game, I think he didn’t have to intervene too much, I think the two actions, one was a goal that was very close range, one is the action where they have the cutback and they hit the post, and there was not much more to do. Everything he did in ball possession was really good.’
Asked if Ramsdale remained in his plans for the new season, Arteta added: ‘Yes, it’s still the same.’
