Mauricio Pochettino appeared to cast doubt on his Chelsea future following their derby victory over Tottenham.
The Blues eased to a 2-0 win over their London rivals thanks to headed goals from Trevoh Chalobah and Nicolas Jackson on Thursday night.
After what has been a difficult season, the Blues are now firmly in the race for European qualification after their recent run of form, just three points behind sixth place Manchester United with four games remaining.
But Pochettino’s future at the club remains uncertain, as it has been at various stages during his first campaign in west London having revealed he was no longer been receiving messages of support from Chelsea’s owners following the 5-0 defeat at Arsenal.
The Argentine hailed his young side following their dominant win over Spurs and again stressed the need for time and patience in order to restore the club to their former glories.
But the Blues boss did not appear convinced over his own future, admitting it will be out of his hands come the end of the season.
‘With this team, with young guys, of course I have the responsibility,’ Pochettino told Sky Sports.
‘But at the same time, we know the circumstances. I want to say, enough is enough, all the managers need time to translate their ideas and their philosophy. more when the team is [young like ours]. We need to have time. But it is not my decision.’
Asked if he fears the decision will be taken out of his hand, Pochettino continued: ‘I don’t know., it is difficult to see every single week that I am [under] scrutiny and judgement, yes.
‘But it is not my decision to be here or not to be here.’
Asked if it is unrealistic for Chelsea to turn into title challengers next season, he added: ‘I can’t tell you. I can’t say nothing.
‘What I can see is after the circumstances, after the decision, after the things that happen, if we want to match he history of Chelsea, there is a lot of work to do.
‘We will see if we have time to build this way.’
