Married At First Sight UK viewers were moved to tears as Amy shared her traumatic ordeal of the death of her unborn twins and being dumped by her fiance.

The former glamour model turned sports journalist kicked off tonight’s episode of the E4 series, recounting her past heartbreak.

Amy, 34, was engaged but her fiance suddenly ended their relationship at the end of 2018. It wasn’t until after they had split that the reporter realised she was pregnant with twins.

As if her suffering couldn’t get any worse, one of the twins died and Amy had to terminate the other twin due to complications.

Speaking in her VT, she said: ‘That absolutely broke me.

‘The two things I want is marriage and babies and I was so close to having both of those things and it didn’t work out.’

Wiping away tears, she added: ‘For me the last straw was my mum having a stroke and she nearly died, that was a big eye opener and made me realise as an only child, when my mum goes, who do I have? I want that support system.’

Reacting to Amy’s heartbreaking past, one viewer tweeted: ‘Jesus Amy sounds like she’s lived a few lives in one lifetime. That’s a massive amount of trauma.’

Another said: ‘Poor girl. Losing twins. Come on Amy, let’s see you happy.’

One sympathetic viewer wrote: ‘Sad to hear of Amy’s story. She has been through so much.’

The relationship experts, Paul C Brunson, Mel Schilling and Charlene Douglas, decided to match Amy up with Josh, 26, who said his dating numbers were ‘record-breaking’, but insisted he was ready to settle down.

There’s an eight year age-gap between Amy and Josh but the experts are convinced they are a great match.

Married At First Sight UK airs weeknights at 9pm on E4.
