The England international was caught driving over the 70mph limit on the M60 on 12 December 2023 in his Rolls-Royce.
HM Courts and Tribunals Service confirmed the 26-year-old has been disqualified for six months, fined £1,666, and ordered to pay £120 court costs and £66 surcharge.
The Sun reported that Rashford appeared before Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court via videolink.
Rashford told the officer who stopped him that he was was speeding because he’d been followed by a vehicle at a set of traffic lights.
The police officer said he rold the player to call 999 if he felt he is being followed, but Rashford replied, ‘it happens all the time and he would be calling us every day’.
Rashford returned to action for Manchester United in a friendly in Norway on Monday, where the Red Devils lost 1-0 to Rosenborg.
It was the forward’s first outing since United won the FA Cup final against Manchester City in May as he missed out on England’s squad for their Euro 2024 campaign in Germany.
Erik ten Hag’s side are back in action on Saturday against Rangers in Edinburgh, with Rashford likely to be involved again.
The Red Devils forward is looking to find form again after a forgettable season last time around which saw him score just seven Premier League goals in 33 outings.
That was a massive drop from the previous campaign when he netted 17 league goals, equal to his best Premier League season to date.
