Facundo Pellistri has made a loan move from Manchester United to Granada after the winger’s agent aimed some stinging criticism at Erik ten Hag.

The 22-year-old has made 14 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions this season, but only three of those have come in a starting line-up.

There is plenty of competition for places in United’s front three and the Uruguay international finds himself behind the likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo in a fight for a place on the wings.

Pellistri’s agent, Edgardo Lasalvia, has hit out at Ten Hag for not giving his client more of a chance in the first team, saying the winger’s future at Old Trafford is in doubt as long as the Dutchman is in charge.

Speaking to Uruguayan publication Sport890, Lasalvia said: ‘Whether he returns to Manchester in the middle of the year [from Granada] will depend on the performance he shows.

‘If Ten Hag continues, it’s going to be difficult. Ten Hag hasn’t used him, valued him, or treated him like a professional.’

Meanwhile, a Manchester United announcement of Pellistri’s loan stated: ‘Everybody at United wishes Facundo all the best this season and we will be tracking his progress closely.’

This is the third loan spell Pellistri has spent away from Old Trafford, having been to Alaves twice on short-term deals.

Manchester United go to Wolves on Thursday looking for a first away win in the Premier League since they beat Everton in November.

‘I think we are quite confident because on our best days, we can beat anyone,’ said Ten Hag. ‘But on our worst days, we go down to certain limits of what is not acceptable, so we have to push our limits to higher levels. So that, on our worst days, we still get our results in.

‘Then we know that, at our best, we can beat anyone and everyone in the squad is very convinced about this. Also, they know that, with players coming back and returning from injury, from long-term injuries, the team will be stronger and also that helps the motivation and it helps the mood and the spirit in the team.’
