The Dutchman is under pressure at Old Trafford after a dismal start to the campaign that has seen United lost nine of their 18 matches in all competitions.
With Sir Jim Ratcliffe set to take a 25% stake in the club, it’s expected that a full investigation will be held into Ten Hag and his coaching staff.
The Dutchman has 18 months to run on his deal, and he could face increasing pressure if results do not improve.
But there is already considerable pressure on Ten Hag, and the prospect of being United’s manager remains a hugely appealing role to managers around the world.
According to ESPN, the representatives of one unappointed manager recently had a meeting with United cancelled as they felt they would use it to push their client as a replacement for Ten Hag.
United are, for now, sticking with Ten Hag and don’t want any distractions towards repairing the club’s form.
The club are hopeful that they’ve turned a corner in recent weeks.
United have won four of their last five matches in the Premier League and though they were defeated by Copenhagen, their performance before Marcus Rashford was sent off was encouraging.
