Juventus are prepared to offer Manchester City flop Kalvin Phillips a chance to revitalise his career, according to reports.
Phillips’s move to City from Leeds United in 2022 has been largely unsuccessful, with the Englishman an unused substitute for their last four games.
He has played just 216 minutes across the entire season thus far, with youngster Rico Lewis largely usurping the 27-year-old in the pecking order.
A further lack of game time will surely call his place in England’s Euro 2024 squad into question meaning Phillips may have to consider a short-term move in January.
And according to Calciomercato, Serie A giants Juventus could be one of those clubs interested in taking the midfielder on loan.
The Italian side are currently just two points of rival Inter at the top of the table and will seek cover in the middle of the park in January having lost Paul Pogba to a doping violation and Nicolo Fagiolo to a gambling ban.
Reports also suggest that Juventus may look at Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg should a move for Phillips fail to materialise.
Hojbjerg was made available for sale in the summer and attracted interest from Atletico Madrid and Fulham.
However, given the injury crisis surrounding Ange Postecoglou’s side, it is unlikely that Spurs will consider offers at the moment for the Dane’s services.
Phillips, meanwhile, could be in line for a return to the starting XI for City’s midweek clash against Aston Villa after Rodri picked up his fifth yellow card in their dramatic 3-3 draw with Tottenham on Sunday.
The draw saw Pep Guardiola’s side drop to third place and fall three points behind league leaders Arsenal.
It also marked the first time since April 2017 that City have failed to win in three consecutive league games.
