Manchester United will have Lisandro Martinez back in their squad for tonight’s clash with Newcastle United.
United slumped to a 1-0 loss against Arsenal on Sunday but Erik ten Hag’s injury-ridden squad face a quick turnaround for their final home game of the season.
Club captain Bruno Fernandes missed his second consecutive game with injury, despite returning to first-team training in midweek, but could come back into the squad with a late decision to be made on the captain.
That also remains the case with Marcus Rashford, who has not featured since the FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry City. He is pushing for a return against the Magpies tonight.
Amad Diallo is also a doubt after he picked up a knock which forced him to be substituted midway through Sunday’s clash although the Ivorian was pictured back in training.
Two players not expected to feature in midweek are Mason Mount and Luke Shaw who both suffered injury setbacks in training last week.
Willy Kambwala is available again but United remain without a number of defensive options in Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane.
Varane will say goodbye to Old Trafford tonight after it was confirmed he will leave at the end of the season with hopes he can still have some role to play on the final day against Brighton or the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
Newcastle meanwhile are sweating on the fitness of Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson. Both strikers missed training on Monday and will undergo late fitness tests.
Eddie Howe meanwhile also continues to deal with a shortage of fit centre-backs, with Fabian Schar, Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman all expected to miss out.
Kieran Tripper came on as a late substitute for his first minutes since March and could come back into the side on Wednesday, while Joelinton and Miguel Almiron are also pushing for their first starts since lengthy layoffs.
