Andre Onana got ‘goosebumps’ after Manchester United beat Liverpool on Sunday while Marcus Rashford made a big admission following the FA Cup win.
The Red Devils defeated their rivals 4-3 after a period of extra-time as Amad Diallo scored a 121st-minute winner at Old Trafford to spark wild scenes.
Were it not for Diallo’s dramatic late goal, Onana would have been forced to deal with a penalty shootout and the United goalkeeper was delighted after the match.
‘Goosebumps,’ the Cameroon international posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
‘What an electric atmosphere at Old Trafford yesterday. A day to remember.’
Meanwhile, Rashford, who scored in the 4-3 victory, admitted after the match that he has not had the season he wanted with the Englishman forced to deal with plenty of criticism over his performances this term.
‘Listen to the noise, you can tell what a big game it is, a huge occasion,’ Rashford told ITV. ‘I haven’t had the season I wanted but night likes this at Old Trafford are what it’s all about.
‘I had to score that chance at the end, I wish it was done half an hour ago but we got the job done and we have to get something out of this season.
‘Today represents what it always has to me, it’s a massive game in the history of Manchester United. It gets us through to a semi-final but even a normal game against Liverpool we have to win.
‘Amad Diallo has been working hard, he hasn’t had the opportunities he wants and there’s no better way to push for more than nights like this.’
