Fans were left disgusted on social media after Sky Sports cameras appeared to show Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho picking his nose and eating it during Sunday’s derby at the Etihad.
Manchester City came from behind to secure a 3-1 victory, which leaves Erik ten Hag’s side 11 points off the Premier League top four.
Garnacho started the match but registered a disappointing performance – unable to create any real danger – and he was replaced with 82 minutes on the clock.
After being substituted, cameras showed Garnacho on the bench with the 19-year-old appearing to pick his nose and then eat it.
‘Swear Garnacho just picked his nose and ate it,’ @ConnoJ5 posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. ‘What an absolute grot bag!’
‘Catching Garnacho munching his boogers on the bench is disgusting work,’ @CFC_Whisper added.
‘Garnacho caught in 4k just picking his nose and eating it live on sky sports,’ @DNieL14817326 said.
A fourth tweet simply read ‘Garnacho, dude, gross’ while another user posted that the winger picking his nose was ‘the most dangerous United looked second half’.
Garnacho has produced five goals and three assists across 25 Premier League appearances so far this season.
The Argentine scored twice in a 3-0 victory over West Ham at Old Trafford last month.
