Gary Neville has revealed the ‘biggest worry’ for Manchester United as they continue to struggle under Erik ten Hag.

United came from behind twice to avoid defeat at Bournemouth on Saturday but the 2-2 draw saw their winless run extend to four games.

The Red Devils enjoyed a promising first season under Ten Hag, finishing third in the Premier League and winning the League Cup.

But United are now just seventh in the table and will look to salvage a largely miserable season by winning the FA Cup ahead of a semi-final against Coventry City next weekend.

Neville is concerned and baffled by Manchester United’s form and says there is ‘no explanation’ for the team’s performances under Ten Hag.

‘There’s nothing more to say, we’ve seen it all before,’ Neville told Sky Sports when asked about United’s disappointing draw with Bournemouth.

‘It’s a repeat of what’s happened over the last six, seven years with manager’s in their second years at Manchester United. There seems to a breakdown at the end.

‘The main thing is the performance levels and it was poor at Brentford and it was poor at Bournemouth. They were really low performance levels and that’s the biggest worry.

‘People point towards the injuries and United have had a mountain of injuries. But nine of that team that started yesterday would probably be in the starting line-up if everyone was fit.

‘They’re missing a couple of players but that’s the same with every team right now.

‘There’s no explanation for how they’re playing at this moment of time. The anger and disappointment has gone out of a lot of fans’ voices, we’re getting to that point now.

‘The FA Cup is obviously massive and winning a trophy two seasons on the bounce shouldn’t be sniffed at.

‘But it is a bizarre experience watching United play in terms of how bad they can be. The inconsistency is rife and we’re just saying the same thing week after week.’

Bruno Fernandes scored two goals as United twice came from behind to deny Bournemouth but it was nevertheless a disappointing outcome for the Premier League giants against mid-table opposition.

Asked if United fans needed to stay patient after another underwhelming display, Ten Hag said: ‘It is up to them but it is the truth.

‘At this moment with all the problems we have we play to our levels. We can play very good and to our levels when everyone is on top form but we have to do it for the whole 90 minutes.’
