Manchester United have identified 2022 FIFA World Cup hat-trick hero, Goncalo Ramos, as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.
Ramos, who currently plays for Benfica, is reported to be valued at around €50 million.
He currently has three and a half years left on his deal with Benfica, as Man United are keen on signing him in the near future following Ronaldo’s departure.
Recall that Ronaldo entered the final year of his contract at Manchester United when the 2022/23 season began.
The 37-year-old tried to engineer an exit in the summer, but nothing materialized.
It took an explosive interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan to push Manchester United over the line and start the proceedings of Ronaldo’s premature exit.
The two parties parted ways last month through mutual consent.
Man United have seemingly earmarked Ronaldo’s international teammate to do the job.
