PSG are actively looking to offload Verratti before the transfer window closes and the Italy international has agreed a deal in principle with Al-Ahli.
However, the Saudi Pro League side have not agreed a transfer fee with PSG, who are holding out for at least €60 million (£51.2m).
According to L’Equipe, Verratti’s preference would be to continue playing in Europe and recently, both United and Bayern Munich have declared their interest.
The report claims that a move to United ‘cannot be ruled out’ but the Premier League club have not yet made an official approach.
Verratti has spent the past 11 seasons at PSG but Luis Enrique has made it clear that the 30-year-old is not part of his plans this season.
The midfielder has not featured in either of PSG’s games in Ligue 1 so far this term.
United, meanwhile, are in the market for a new central midfielder before the transfer window closes.
Reports have claimed that United have tabled an offer for Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, although Erik ten Hag’s side face competition from Liverpool.
