There are some concerns at Manchester United over the growing involvement of Erik ten Hag’s agent on the club’s transfer business, according to reports.

Kees Vos is Ten Hag’s agent and his company, Sports Entertainment Group, have been prominent in the Red Devils’ transfer business over the last 18 months.

Mail Sport report that SEG have become the ‘go-to agency’ for both negotiating transfers and for advice on the transfer market.

Rasmus Hojlund joined SEG a month before signing for Manchester United, while Zidane Iqbal joined the agency shortly before leaving for Utrecht.

Ten Hag’s son, Nigel, also works for SEG as an analyst, further strengthening his links with the agency.

The Mail’s report states that there are some concerns among staff at Old Trafford over the growing influence of SEG, although ‘senior leadership are comfortable’ with the role they have been playing.

SEG is a huge company, representing 600 clients and involved in over 300 transfers this summer, so their involvement with Manchester United was a tiny fraction of their business.

There are certainly more pressing concerns at Old Trafford after the 3-1 defeat to Brighton on Saturday continued their poor run of form and results, leading to dust-ups in the dressing room.

According to The Sun, tempers flared between the United players after they were beaten by Brighton as Ten Hag ‘attempted to restore order’ among his squad.

The report claims that United captain Bruno Fernandes ‘confronted’ Scott McTominay, who had been given his first start of the season.

Lisandro Martinez, who was sold a dummy by Pascal Gross for Brighton’s well-worked second goal, was also said to have ‘lost it’ with his centre-back partner Victor Lindelof in the dressing room.
