Harry Maguire and Jack Grealish have been left out of England’s final 26-man squad for Euro 2024 in Germany.
The Manchester United and Manchester City stars join James Maddison, Curtis Jones and James Trafford in missing out on the final squad with Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah also expected to miss out.
Gareth Southgate has until midnight on Friday night to submit his final list with the Three Lions taking on Iceland in their final warm-up game earlier that evening.
Maguire has been an instrumental figure in Southgate’s teams in the last three major international competitions.
The former United captain however has not played since April due to a calf problem, missing his side’s final five games of the season including the FA Cup final against City.
It had been hoped the 28-year-old would recover in time to take his place in the starting XI when England begin their Euro 2024 campaign against Serbia on 16 June.
But The Athletic report he will miss out, along with Grealish.
