Man caught with 80 pieces of army uniform in Lagos

A 42-year-old man, Christian Obi on Friday was tried for allegedly being in possession of 80 pieces of already sewed army camouflage uniforms.

The defendant was tried on a charge of unlawful possession before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.

Police prosecutor, Insp. Doney Raphel, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 5, along Olojo Drive, Ojo.

He alleged that the defendant was found in possession of 80 pieces of already sewed army camouflage uniforms and could not give a convincing response when interrogated.

The offence contravenes Section 330(d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, NAN reports.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs O.G. Oghre admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties each in like sum.

She then adjourned the case until Aug. 24 for mention.
