State Chairmen of the Labour Party, LP, on Friday, dismissed the purported removal of Julius Abure as national chairman.

They said he remains recognised, condemning the seal of the party’s secretariat as well as the takeover by thugs on Thursday, NAN reports.

The National Working Committee (NWC) is a subordinate organ to the National Executive Committee (NEC), according to Ogbaloi Kelly, LP Chairman in Edo.

The official said when a faction decides to take laws into its hands, it becomes a nullity, adding that those trying to occupy the head office have been on suspension.

“The 36 state chairmen have come to retake their possession. These miscreants who took over the office do not have the authority.”

He recalled that the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) affirmed Abure in their communique, urging Nigerians to disregard the sack.

Cashmir Agbo, LP chairman in Enugu, advised party members to be guided by constitutional provisions and laws of the party.

“You go to court, obtain an order and you want to enforce that order by yourself. They mixed criminality with civil process,” he asserted.
