Former France forward Louis Saha, who scored 85 Premier League goals, on the plight of some of his former teams.

Three English clubs you played for – Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham – are in the race for the top four. How do you see it ending up?

The current top four will be the top four come the end of the season. Newcastle can pick up the points. Tottenham (who are fifth) might be the favourites because they have more experience in getting into it but it’s an exciting one!

Manchester United will definitely be there and Arsenal and Manchester City are fighting for the title so they’ll definitely be in there too. That’s why the current top four will be the same at the end of the season.

What do you think of the job manager Marco Silva has done to get Fulham up to seventh?

Marco has done a brilliant job. We’ve seen new players like Willian come in and play well, their defenders have good tactical awareness and the strikers have managed to get everything right.

It’s a brilliant achievement for the manager, the players and for the club.

What do you think has made the difference after Fulham were relegated in their last two Premier League campaigns?

Fulham knew they had to change the dynamic of the club from when they were yo-yoing between the Premier League and the Championship in recent years. When you have the foundation they’ve built, they can begin to look up the table. They’ve got a good fixture list and they’ve managed to pick some points off the big teams this season.

You spent four seasons with Everton. Do you fear for them after losing to Liverpool?

I hope Sean Dyche keeps Everton up this season. They still have lots of games left so there’s plenty of room for them to improve. I really don’t understand what happened at Everton. I’m baffled. When you look at the club and everything they’ve thrown away over the last few years, it’s very frustrating.
