Nollywood actor, Pope Odonwodo popularly known as Junior Pope, has advised partners against staying in marriages where their significant other exhibits violent behaviour.

Odonwodo made this comments via his Instagram page on Monday stating that the happiness in the home “lies in the hands of the man.”

In the post, Pope stated that while partners in a marriage should always try to amicably resolve misunderstandings, they should walk away at the first sign of domestic violence.

“Know it that two persons raised from different backgrounds and environs coming together to live as ONE, is one of the most difficult things in life,” he wrote.

“In my eight years in marriage, I would say that the HAPPINESS of a home lies in the hands of the man. Uneasy they say is the head that wears the crown.”

He also decried the idea of couples bringing their marital issues to social media, where solution is rarely found.

“Women also should do better, small misunderstanding like this una don run come social media (I don’t think anyone has ever found a solution to their marital problems here).

“Well if you are determined to make your marriage work; it will work. Having said that; domestic violence is a no no for me. Walk away the moment he/she puts a finger on you.”

Pope’s comment follow an explosive social posts by Korth Adeleke, where she accused her husband, Adeshina alias Sina Rambo, of domestic violence.

According to her, Adeshina, the son of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, had shown her no care even after she had to undergo a caesarian section to give birth to their daughter earlier this year.

Sharing pictures, videos and chats, Korth alleged that her marriage had been filled with constant abuse from Rambo.
