The Vice-Chancellor of Lead City University (LCU), Professor Kabiru Aderemi Adeyemo, has described LCU as a Centre of Excellence, where students “are equipped with skills for self reliance.”

Responding to Members of the Press, during the World Press Conference at the university main campus in Ibadan on Monday 24 March 2025 to mark the 20th Anniversary of the institution, , Professor Adeyemo listed a number of ways the LCU is different from other universities.
He said LCU “is producing job creators and not job seekers,” citing the example of some of LCU students who designed an App for feeding for universities.
LCU, in addition to patronizing the students and paying for the App, has started introducing the students to other universities’ , he noted.
Adeyemo also commended the staff and students of the institution for their high sense of commitment, dedication, cohesion and unity of purpose.
According to him, the staff is more than willing to address any issue as they come. He noted that an emergency meeting was called at 4p.m. last week and all members concerned were present.
He also noted that LCU’s strategic location and serene environment “are very conducive for learning. ”
“The fact that the over 25,000 students so far produced by LCU are making waves in various fields all over the world, is a testimony that Lead City is the University to attend,” Professor Adeyemo posited.
He said the students were humane, always neatly dressed, while the school fees “is affordable.”
He said LCU also had a microfinance bank which “borrow parents, who cannot afford their children/wards fees, money, which they repay installmentally. ”
Adeyemo said LCU on yearly basis offered two students scholarship from each of the 33 Local Government Areas in Ọyọ State .
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy goes a popular saying, the school, provides spaces for soccer, table tennis, basket ball and other games for leisure. ”
In order to achieve her mission of “providing qualitative access to knowledge and training, with innovative and challenging teaching techniques that guarantee a balanced education,LCU has a zero tolerance for misconduct,” the Vice-Chancellor added.
The Vice-Chancellor later led the LCU team downstairs where he unveiled the 20th Anniversary Logo by the entrance of the Senate building.
