La Liga have officially unregistered two Barcelona players Dani Olmo and Pau Victor off their website as players registered for the Blaugrana.
Barring a twist, Olmo and Victor will not be able to play for Barcelona for the rest of the season.
La Liga regulations state that players cannot be registered twice for the same club in the same season.
Initially, both Olmo and Victor had been registered under an emergency injury rule using the salary of defender Andreas Christensen, who was ruled out for the first half of the current season with an Achilles’ tendon problem.
But as things stand now, Christensen, a former Chelsea player, has now returned to La Liga’s website too.
Barcelona had released a statement insisting they applied for a licence for Olmo and Victor but as things stand, neither will be able to play for the Catalan club for the rest of the season.
Victor is likely to head out on loan this January transfer window, while Olmo will now have a decision to make regarding his future.
