France booked their spot in Sunday’s final to take on Argentina after beating the Africans 2-0 in Qatar on Wednesday night.
Mbappe came directly up against club team-mate Hakimi during the encounter and the two are close friends off the pitch.
Morocco stunned the likes of Spain, Belgium and Portugal on their way to the semi-finals, becoming the first African nation in World Cup history to reach the last four.
But while Morocco’s dream of reaching the final came to an end, Mbappe said Hakimi and his team-mates should be proud of making ‘history’.
‘Don’t be sad bro,’ said Mbappe.
‘Everybody is proud of what you did, you made history.’
Mbappe will be the man to watch on Sunday as he looks to win his second World Cup at the age of just 23.
He’ll be attempting to stop club team-mate Lionel Messi from getting his hands on the trophy for the first time, in what is set to be his final World Cup appearance.
