Mr. Kole Ademulegun, a Partner/Founder and Vice Chairman at MediaLink Ltd, one of the country’s leading out-of-the-home advertising companies is dead.
Family source said Kole passed on Saturday 10th June during a short illness. He was the second son of Brigadier Samuel Adesujo Ademulegun who was killed during January 1966 coup.
His partner Chief Babu Akinbobola received the news of Kole’s death abroad with a rude shock. He is still in shock, as he is still finding it difficult to believe his bosom and dependable partner is gone. ” He was full of life when last we met in March. He did not give any sign of ailment.” He soulfully intoned.
Ademulegun, a fellow of the Advertising Practitioner Council of Nigeria (APCON) now ARCON, and former president of the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) was a respected leading light in Nigeria’s Integrated Marketing
Mr. Ademulegun with his long-time partner and trusted ally, Chief Babu were working in the 80s in a full-service creative agency, Grant Advertising before they decided to quit for a joint partnership to set up MediaLink Ltd.
The thoroughbred practitioners whose experience spanned Media, Advertising and Communications, established Media Link in September 1983. Media Link in no time became the innovative leader the outdoor business Nigeria had been waiting for.

Reacting to the news of Mr. Ademulegun’s death, the President of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, Steve Babaeko said,
“Mr. Kole Ademulegun was one of the pillars of our industry a leading light that blazed the trail for new generations of practitioners, especially in the Out of home sector. The news of his passing is both shocking and heartbreaking. On behalf of the Executive Board of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) we send our deepest condolences to his family and his colleagues. Our prayers are with them at this very difficult time”.
Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, Director-General, the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, ARCON said, “A distinguished Fellow and a respected practitioner has gone home to be with the Lord. We will surely miss him, ADIEU MR KOLE ADEMULEGUN:
Also reacting to the news of the demise, the President, Media Independent Independent Association of Nigeria, MIPAN and Chairman, Heads of Advertising Sectoral Groups, HASG, Mr. Femi Adelusi, who was away in the United Kingdom for the burial of Tolu Ogunkoya, former MIPAN President and CEO, Media Reach OMD, West Africa expressed shock.
The news of the passing of Mr. Kole Ademulegun is a sad one. The industry is yet to recover from the shocking passing of Mr. Tolu Ogunkoya and then this news, he expressed.
“I met Mr. Ademulegun early in my entrance into the industry and used his professional experience and passion in running a successful business. He sacrificed time and effort in driving collaboration across all sectoral groups and clients. He always demonstrated a friendly, warm, and amiable persona.
“He was an active contributor of ideas to the HASG (Heads of Advertising Sectoral Group) and he reached out to me when he heard about my appointment as the Chairman of the HASG and shared some very helpful advice.
“He will be missed, I pray that the Lord comforts his family and friends”. May his soul rest in peace, the MIPAN President prayed.
