They are on their deadly prowl. Unrelenting, as always. They never stopped for a second. They live for blood and by blood. They’re bloody; bodies, souls and their evil spirits.
They feel high, extremely excited, at the sight of blood. Even from the farthest afar. Their wild motto: where there’s blood is where to go. Ever restless and restive. They won’t give up. It’s never over with them. That’s their weird trademark.
They are agents of destruction. They kill, destroy and dominate therein. Ask the ancient prosperous Hausa states. They had sordid tales of eternal regrets to tell.
These Fulani herders are fussing furiously. They are full of anger. The violence in them is deep and intense. Ready to unleash terror in their usual element.
Why should any mortal dare arrest their leader? They wonder aloud, empty into the thin air. Fulani’s Miyetti Allah Kauta Hore flaunted its power some days back in Lafia, Nasarawa State. It is one of its strongholds. It somehow showcased its dreaded arsenal.
Its president, Bello Bodejo, did it with reckless impunity. The highest form of lawlessness. With the greatest provocation, it launched Nomad’s Vigilante Group. He told a feigned truth. That the militia would fight banditry, terrorism, kidnapping. All the atrocities Fulani killer herdsmen are being accused of. Bodejo took everybody for granted.
He was totally in charge. And he didn’t pretend. He was goading and prodding throughout. Security agencies in attendance were kept at bay. You could read the perplexity, embarrassment, frustration all over them.
He called the shots from start to finish. And his audience was fixated, overwhelmed, soaked in bewilderment. It was his day. He explored and exploited it to the maximum.
Obviously, Bodejo’s actions and inactions gravely offended our security sensibilities. The Department of State Security (DSS) very well confirmed that. The agency couldn’t stomach it no more. Enough of Miyetti’s shenanigans! And DSS caged him, Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at exactly 3:40pm.
At that, the Fulani even became more furious. They were shocked. What looked impossible came to pass. Their umbrella body, Fulani Nationalist Movement (FUNAM), was spitting fire like Sango! Its spokespersons, Umar Amir Shehu and Badu Salisu Ahmadu, were in their awful elements.
The duo was rash and impetuous in utterances and body language. They sharpened their weapons and aimed at the wrong targets. See the repulsive threat they churned out from their hideous factory. And they were audacious enough to send it to the whole nation, except the Fulani themselves.
They beat war drums with all the strength they could muster. And the sound reverberated throughout the land. You dared not ignore it. It was loud to be heard.
Their intention was clear: Nothing but a declaration of war. They shot at us:
“We hereby reiterate our demand for the immediate release of the president, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Bodejo.
“Release Bodejo or the government will have itself to blame. We hereby give 72 hours notice, failure to release him, the Nigerian government will hear from us.
“We have deliberately been silent for obvious reasons, chief of which was the intervention of our elders before the 2023 elections. Unfortunately, the elders gave us false promises that they would hand over the presidential seat to someone who can protect the Fulani interest, but they never did.
“We were assured that power would not be shifted, but they have done that which they promised never to do. We are aware of the efforts, but the anti-Fulani forces prevailed.
“Inevitable jihad. It is now obvious we have no other option than to re-launch our campaign, which we have started in earnest.
“Nigerian government will hear from us in the South and Middle Belt. Our campaign will be swift and decisive and nobody will be able to help Nigeria.
“Fulani can never have a country where they are second-class citizens. That is unacceptable. The arrest of any Fulani man in connection with the jihad is a crime against our collective interest. We warn the Nigerian government not to make the mistake of arresting any Fulani leader or person, never again.
“We are watching the actions of the government in relation to the explosion in Ibadan (Oyo State). If any Fulani man is arrested, be assured that our responses will be total, ruthless and immediate
“We call on all our Fulani brothers to take the war into the enemy territories in Plateau, Enugu, Lagos, Ibadan, Port Harcourt and Makurdi until the infidel governments are brought down.
“Our current effort in Plateau will not cease until the infidels are suppressed and the jihad glad installed in every part of Nigeria to the glory of our father, Uthman Dan Fodio.
“Expect more bombings in every public place across the South, Middle Belt and Abuja from the month of February 2024
“We call on non-Fulani people to vacate Plateau, Kaduna and Benue states, if they are not ready to live under the inevitable jihad, which will eventually be all over Nigeria.”
What impudence. Insolence at its irritating extreme! The reason we must all, non-Fulani, come together. We need to expunge these perennial killers from our midst.
They are obscene to decent life and living. They’re disgusting and offensive to morality and decency. Sure, their place is not among us.
We need to have a proper understanding of this ravening race. They are strong-willed, not easily broken. Once they put their hands on the plough. There’s no looking back. They remain unbending, unyielding, rampaging and ravaging.
They are mean and deadly. Those are the eerie qualities they cherish with relish. And they effortlessly unleash them on their harmless preys with uncanny intensity. They are sneaky and slippery. Just like fish, you can’t hold them, you can pin them down.
Fulani’s tact is legendary. It’s as old as the queer tribe itself. It dwells heavily on mass attack. Their strategy; surprise and persistence. They keep on pounding the same targets. They won’t stop until their preys are weakened and worn out. Subdued, their victims give up in surrender. And they occupy therein.
The unending Magun killings in Plateau State, typify this. Within a month since Christmas, Magun residents were massacred on three different occasions. And it’s still counting.
But, be of good cheer. Here’s the pleasant news; they are breakable after all. They are penetrable. They can’t afford to confront you face-to-face. They largely make use of darkness to attack. That is one weakness to explore and exploit.
They should not be left to chances. President Bola Tinubu should be particularly encouraged. He needs to take tougher actions against these candidates of hell. They ought to be sent fast to where they truly belong: The abyss, yes the bottomless chasm.
We have come to a point of no return. It’s our stark reality. We have to deal with the actuality staring us in the face. This is full-blown war. And it has to be so strictly and seriously treated. No viable alternative to this mess on our fragile hands.
This battle is our collective life. It must not be fought to a standstill. It has be won and won squarely and totally. It’s not a two-way but one-way matter and victory is it.
That is when we can enjoy peace on all fronts. It’s the peace we were used to before these children of evil happened to us. The peace is still achievable and is all we desire.
Our security architecture is in dire need of an honest rejig. The reason the fight must start from within. It is the best way to go. Suspicions, rumours and insinuations are flying strong and all over the space.
It is common knowledge. We have moles in government and its agencies. It is a public secret. Former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Bunari confessed as much.
Frustrated, they were forced to admit. Moles were holding sway in their governments. They cried, yelled and shouted. And ended it at that. What action did they take? Practically none! They opted to swim and sink with their misfortunes. What a cowardly choice!
Tinubu should not buy into that. It is detrimental to our interest. This government professes a “renewed hope” mantra. It should walk its talk. The President should do things differently to achieve different but better results.
And where to start is with the security agencies. We sincerely appreciate their sacrifices. Even at that, they need to be more up and doing.
This battle has to be wholeheartedly confronted. Sincerity of purpose, honesty and transparency ought to be their watchwords. Safeguarding the sovereignty of the country should be paramount.
Fighting insurgency, banditry and terrorism has become a cash cow. It has been turned to a lucrative sub-sector of our fledging economy. This has to be reversed without further delay. And it can! And we have got to move fast. It’s risky to drag our feet further.
We don’t even have the luxury of time. They are closing on us by the minute. These killers won’t stop prowling!
