A Senior Special Adviser to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, Abdulrahman Muhammad Sulaiman, popularly known as Mai-Kadama, has not only resigned from his position but dumped the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, for the All Progressives Congress, APC, after meeting the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin.
Sulaiman, Governor Yusuf’s Senior Special Adviser on Entrepreneurship, abruptly announced his defection on Thursday, after a meeting with Barau Jibrin in his office in Abuja.
Mai-Kadama held several positions before his switch, including leading the Kwankwasiyya movement in Plateau State; similarly, he was also head of the G-6 faction in Kano State.
In a Facebook post, Jibrin said Mai-Kadama joined APC to advance good governance and accelerate development.
His post read: “Another plus for the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a top shot of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Kwankwasiyya movement, Abdulrahman Mai Kadama Kwankwasiyya joined the party.
“Today, Mai Kadama Kwankwasiyya was in my residence in Abuja, where he dumped the red cap and joined the largest political party in Africa, APC.
“With the change of party, he announced that he is now Mai Kadama Maliya. The grassroots politician also announced his resignation as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Kano State on Entrepreneurship II.
“Mai Kadama also announced his resignation as the leader of the Kwankwasiyya in Plateau State, leader of the G-6 in Kano State and the national chairman of Kwankwasiyya Akasa A Tsare, to join our fold to promote good governance, fast track the development of our state and the country as a whole.
“The brand new Mai Kadama Maliya called on his young political comrades to join our great movement to deliver more dividends of democracy to our people.
“As I said previously, our party, APC, is the only party genuinely committed to enhancing the standard of living of our people. Let’s do it together; the train can accommodate all.”
