The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission said it had successfully blocked the sum of N80m (Eighty Million Naira) from the Grant sent to Kano Agricultural Supply Company in 2022.
Report from KANO FOCUS said that The Chairman of the Commission Barrister Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado disclosed this when he led an investigation team to warehouses where Alleged cars, Heavy duty tractors, and tractors believed to have been bought by the siphoned funds were kept at a place in Kumbotso local government area of the state.
He said the Funds amounting to over four Billion Naira was sent to KASCO from the coppers of the Kano State Government as Grant on the 19 August 2022 to 3rd April 2023, but was allegedly diverted to the accounts of some companies.
Rimin Gado noted that Eight people had been arrested and were currently given fruitful information.
” one of the eight people arrested is a store officer in KASCO, he was offered the sum of one Million Naira to write a false report, he received the money and kept it aside waiting for a day like this to come, he has returned the money to the recovery account of the commission “
Barrister Muhyi Magaji Maintained that the investigation “is ongoing”, stressing that the commission would not relent in the fight against corruption
