Jurgen Klopp has promised Liverpool fans a proper party to celebrate the Premier League title, when this ‘bulls**t virus’ has gone.

The Reds finally lifted the Premier League trophy on Wednesday night, for the firs time in the club’s history, after a spectacular 5-3 win over Chelsea.

The title had been secured in June but Klopp and his players were finally handed the huge trophy after their final home game of the season against the Blues.

The thrilling win took their points total to 96 with a game left, in what has been a fantastic season for the Merseyside club,

No fans were able to be in Anfield to watch the coronation, but Klopp insists a proper celebration will happen as soon as COVID-19 has been dealt with sufficiently to allow it.

The German has thanked the fans for their continued support and has promised them a serious night out in the future.

‘What can I say? If you don’t see that we do it for you I can’t help you, really,’ Klopp told Sky Sports.

‘Five years ago I asked you to change from doubters to believers. I said it, the minute before the press conference, I had no idea that I would ask it.

‘But you did it. You made us happen, really. Thank you very much.

‘We all together should celebrate. At home, safe, drink what you want.

‘But you have to prepare for a party. I don’t know when this bull**** virus will be gone, but then we will have a party, all together.

‘Make sure you are ready then. Thank you very much.’

Club captain Jordan Henderson is out with a knee injury, but he emerged to lift the trophy after the game, which despite no fans being there, was made extra special by the players being allowed their families in attendance.

‘We’ve been waiting a long time,’ said Henderson. ‘Walking up there was amazing, the lads deserved the moment and thankfully the families were watching.

‘To crown it off like that was really special.’
