Jurgen Klopp is confident over Mohamed Salah signing a new contract with Liverpool.

The Egypt international has 18 months remaining on his current deal at Anfield and indicated earlier this year he was ready to pen fresh terms with the Merseyside club.

Klopp is optimistic over talks with his top goal scorer but suggests there will be no rush to get the deal over the line.

‘We are in really good conversations,’ Klopp told Sky Sports News.

‘I want it to happen, but when? I couldn’t care less.’

Salah has scored 22 goals and provided nine assists in 24 appearances this season.

The former Roma star has previously been linked with a big-money move to Real Madrid but suggested in October he is ready to commit his future to Merseyside.

‘If you ask me, I would love to stay until the last day of my football career, but I can’t say much about that – it’s not in my hands,’ Salah said ahead of Liverpool’s crushing 5-0 win over Manchester United in October.

‘It depends on what the club want, not on me.

‘At the moment I can’t see myself ever playing against Liverpool. That would make me sad. It’s hard, I don’t want to talk about it, but it would make me really sad.
