The World No.1 brought up the historic milestone in the second frame of his quarter-final clash with Allen, receiving a standing ovation from the crowd as he potted the pink to bring up the century.
Trump, who made his first century back in November 2005, joins Ronnie O’Sullivan and John Higgins in the elite club but, at age 35, is the youngest of three to hit the milestone.
Neil Robertson is the next closest to the milestone and currently has 951 centuries, while Mark Selby is further back in fifth with 839.
Despite their age difference, Trump and Higgins had been in a closely contested race to the milestone but it was the four-time World Champion who reached the tally first in a defeat to Mark Allen at the English Open just last week
‘It’s a good achievement. I’ve played this game for so long to get to that milestone. You have to be proud of that,’ Higgins said at the time.
‘I’m really proud. To be honest, I wanted to get there before Judd. I thought that I have a 14-year head start on him.
‘It is good to be second to Ronnie O’Sullivan, the best ever. Judd will obviously go on and probably eclipse Ronnie’s century record.’
O’Sullivan made it to 1,000 back in 2019 and now has registered an absurd 1,272 professional tons over his epic career to date.
He reached his 1,000th as he won the final of the Players Championship against Robertson in Preston.
‘I just played really, really well,’ he said after lifting the trophy five years ago. ‘I played well all week, but I played brilliantly today and to cap it off with 1,000 centuries is great.
‘I suppose to me, it’s just what I do since I was seven or eight, playing snooker, potting balls – I love the game.’
