As the Unit Head of Data Architecture and Engineering within the Finance Directorate’s Enterprise Data Management and Transactional Analytics department, you will be a pivotal figure responsible for the development and implementation of the Data Strategy blueprint. Collaborating closely with the Chief Data Officer and relevant stakeholders, both internal and external to the enterprise, you will play a critical role in shaping the data infrastructure and architecture to support the organization’s strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
Assist in planning, coordinating, and supervising all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of data pipelines and architectural solutions.
Oversee the effective day-to-day management of resources within the unit.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders for budget preparation, execution, and ensure compliance with budget management.
Ensure smooth execution of Operational Level Agreements (OLAs) through constant review and engagement with stakeholders.
Establish and maintain an effective operational model, periodically reviewing and adapting it to align with present-day realities.
Perform coding and architectural reviews to ensure the quality and robustness of solutions before release.
Delegate responsibilities to members of the unit, promoting effective teamwork and collaboration.
Ensure that developed solutions undergo peer review and are well-documented.
Maintain a vigilant approach to prevent regulatory or audit exceptions associated with the team’s activities.
Validate that solutions meet the requirements outlined in the design documentation.
Provide leadership and technical guidance to direct reports, fostering their professional growth and development.
Requirements:
Minimum of a first degree or its equivalent in a business/IT related discipline.
Masters, MBA, or a recognized professional certification will be an added advantage.
10+ years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering data-related solutions.
Proficient knowledge of software development frameworks, concepts, and best practices.
Working knowledge of system implementation.
Proficient knowledge of structured systems analysis and design, and software development life cycle.
Proficient knowledge of relational database management systems and tools.
Good knowledge of enterprise applications systems such as Finacle 10, Oracle ERP, etc.
Proven technical aptitude in several relevant application programming domains.
Working knowledge of quality control/assurance.
