Job Summary
We are seeking to hire an experienced Social Safeguard Officer.
Responsibilities

- Raise awareness of contractors and core capacities with regards to the Code of Conduct specifically for preventing and reporting sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) and sexual harassment
- Implement strategies regarding social safeguards issues including gender-responsive activities as part of health system strengthening
- Implement the community engagement strategy, including the Social Safeguards Famework to assist communities bordering the worksite to participate in the construction and maintenance activities
- Monitor work conditions on construction sites, ensuring adherence to labour laws and Decent Work principles
- Organize awareness-raising and training activities relating to social safeguards and ensure social safeguards measures are put into practice
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or gender studies
- Experience in Gender Based violence is compulsory
- Four (4) years post qualification experience in stakeholders’ engagement and management, grievance redress mechanism, and involuntary resettlement planning
- Knowledge of gender issues in development particularly GBV, SEA/SH with at least two (2) years’ experiences in GBV (especially in areas of sexual exploitation and abuse, and sexual harassment)
