Job Vacancy: Job title: Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist (Abuja)
Job description: The Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist oversees the day-to-day technical operations of all the laboratories within RFC in addition to the routine functions of a medical laboratory scientist. The incumbent would supervise and manage the laboratory staff.
Responsibilities:
This includes but is not limited to
- ensuring equipment are in operational condition and services as per set timelines.
- ensuring good laboratory practices are maintained.
- monitoring of turnaround time of tests is met.
- ensuring excellent quality of results generated by the laboratory.
- reviewing internal and external quality reports to ensure optimal performance.
- monitoring and supervising laboratory staff.
- ensuring good housekeeping.
- Performing routine medical tests.
- drafting of new standard operating procedure.
- efficient management of operational resources (reagents, consumables, kits, and others)
- provision of periodic medical laboratory performance reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences (BMLS) with a current practicing license issued by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- 3-5 years post-NYSC work experience (Standalone laboratory or hospital-based laboratory)
- Certification in Quality Management System is desirable but work experience in an ISO Accredited facility (or other healthcare accreditation) could suffice.
