This role involves reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, managing financial KPIs and works closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate financial operations and contribute to the organization’s financial health and success.A day in the life of the Senior Financial Accountant:Accounting Operations

  • Ensure a seamless and real-time running of the Financial Reporting processes to aid the speed of delivery in providing real-time and accurate financial information to Management and other users.
  • Lead Balance sheet Integrity Reviews
  • Develop and uphold robust internal controls and procedures to safeguard the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Coordinates the implementation of improvements to streamline accounting processes.
  • Manage all Financial KPIs and KRIs within the finance and control.
  • Maintains chart of accounts master data, assessment and allocations rules and tables, and standard general ledger balance sheet and profit and loss reports and communicate changes, as required, to markets/businesses and NBS.
  • Perform check on treasury and cash management activities, including hedging, petty cash management, etc.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations, empowering management to make well-informed business decisions.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with other departments, contributing to the overarching financial management strategy of the company.

Closing and Financial Reporting

  • Coordinates period-end close process, reviews account reconciliations, and ensures accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepares and submits statutory and out of NBS scope reports, reviews and submits final reports which are in NBS scope.

Accounts Receivables

  • Manage all vendors with debit balances reconciliation and clearing of the accounts.
  • Perform expected credit loss transactions and make recommendation.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Works with other departments to apply accounting recommendations to operational issues to ensure accounting controls are maintained.
  • Ensures compliance with market tax requirements.

Others

  • Manages all external aspects of audit relating to accounting.
  • Manages audit process improvements relating to accounting.
  • Manage dividend reconciliation with company’s registrar.
  • Works with Nestle Treasury to ensure appropriate banking, payment processing infrastructure in place to achieve accounting objectives.
  • Coordinate and support all tax and regulatory reporting requirements.

What Will Make You Successful?

  • B.Sc./HND in Finance or Accounting and MUST be a Chartered Accountant i.e., ACA, ACCA.
  • Ten (10) years of practical experience with a significant portion in a managerial role.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, standards (IFRS, CAMA), and tax regulations.
  • Experience with financial reporting, management accounting, Costing and auditing in FMCG companies is mandatory.
