We are looking for a passionate and talented NodeJS Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing team. This role is integral to our goal of leveraging cutting-edge technology to create innovative financial solutions for our customers and the financial sector at large.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect, develop, and deploy efficient and reliable server-side applications using JavaScript and NodeJS.
• Design and implement APIs and web services that enable seamless communication between our front-end applications and backend systems.
• Develop and optimize database schemas and queries, ensuring data integrity, performance, and scalability.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the backend infrastructure and implement optimizations to ensure efficient and responsive applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Implement security measures to protect user data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to understand requirements and contribute to the overall architecture and design of applications.
• Write and execute unit and integration tests to ensure the reliability and stability of backend systems. Participate in testing efforts and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes and ensure smooth and reliable releases.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for backend systems, APIs, and integrations to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding.
• Ensure software development software projects meet quality, timeline, and budget requirements.
• Manage and mentor team members, helping them improve their technical skills and career development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Minimum of 4 years experience in NodeJS and backend development.
• Proven work experience in backend development using JavaScript and NodeJS.
• Strong understanding of server-side technologies and familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services development.
• Proficiency in database design and management such as MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL.
• Working knowledge of Git, software design principles, patterns, and architecture.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Excellent teamwork, communication and leadership skills to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional environment.
• Previous work experience in a fintech company or financial applications is preferred.
