In addition, building capability within Security ensuring the function has the correct skills and competencies required to deliver SCiN’s business objectives, safely.Providing leadership, coordination, and supervision over Assurance activities, Security Capability Development of personnel; Integrate other supporting teams/personnel providing a cross functional/business approach; Develop and write annual Security training plans; and interface with the OD&L to develop the Learning Demand plan for Security.What’s the role?This role supports the Security team and key stakeholders by managing all security assurance activities, identifying gaps against a set of identified competences and team capabilities and implementing a gap closure plan. Provide support to the GM Security through identification of improvement areas across the Security function, identify & track actions with a focus on contributing to business profitability.What’s the role?Activities include identifying the knowledge/skill requirement for each Security role / team and associated competence gaps, developing / implementing strategies to close the competence gaps through:

  • Training course (Workplace learning, virtual learning, F2F, etc.)
  • Workshops, Seminars, conferences
  • Social learning, membership of professional bodies & networking across the industry
  • Refresher Trainings

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Security Assurance and business improvements on the core deliverables on the security function.
  • Assess and track Security assurance actions raised from LoD activities – audits, SRAs.
  • Radar focal point for Security function and leading action close out.
  • Develop internal assurance plan (LOD1) based on threat outlook, business risks, and the focus areas; manage and track the implementation of the assurance plan actions.
  • Drive asset verification of deployed security support equipment and monitor contractor performance.
  • Participate in the creation of robust country & functional plans; track/report progress against plans aligned with timing of regular business reviews. Support leadership in creation and management of governance frameworks and business strategies
  • Drive Ethics & Compliance in the Security function through development and implementation of an approved annual plan.
  • Maintain oversight of Government Security Agency E&C risk mitigations
  • Manage the regional compliance documentation and database ensuring all country risk assessments / security plans are current and within review timelines.
  • Support the Security function to assure the delivery of security plans and threat risk assessments across for all SCiN assets and activities.
  • Works closely with SYLT to ensure training needs are aligned with the needs of the Corporate security functions, Security Competence Profile and SCiN Security business priorities.
  • Collaborate with OD & Learning team to ensure that Security annual learning plans are collated and completed within approved budget in line with OD & Learning strategy of 70:20:10 and KM as well as meeting Key business priorities, capability focus and capability groups.
  • Facilitate the development of the annual Security function focus areas in alignment with the overall business objective.
  • Sets objectives coaches/mentors, assesses performance, and addresses skill development for Security team.
  • Coordinate quarterly and annual engagement sessions between SYLT and OD & Learning team to assess the performance of allocated annual learning budget.
  • Drive best practice sharing and learning through global networking, Regional interfaces and co-ordination.
  • Collate data to enable monthly / annually Security Performance Review in order that trends are recognized and acted upon.

What we need from you

  • At least a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution. Post graduate qualification in relevant fields will be an advantage.
  • Expert knowledge of how to manage security risks using Group Corporate Security methods.
  • At least 5 years’ experience working in security management in high threat/risk environments.
  • Detailed knowledge of Security Risk Assessment methodology and the group tool (STATURE)
  • Professional industrial security certification (PSP and/or CPP from ASIS or equivalent body)
  • Thorough understanding of SCIN security threat environment.
  • Thorough understanding of the Line Of Defence (LOD1,2&3) assurance process.
  • Demonstrated ability to instruct, coach and develop SCiN Security personnel.
  • Demonstrated presentation, negotiation, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong program management, analysis, planning, budgeting, communication and supervision skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work across teams/cadre and collaborate with others to deliver result.
  • Ability to manage and drive cost reduction: drive creativity and innovation.
  • Demonstrated ability to network with co-professionals in the industry and across multinational corporation.
  • Prior experience within facilitating / organizing learning events is an advantage
  • Excellent computing skills and experience with managing data, creating and managing complex database and detailed use of spreadsheet for activity planning. Extensive experience with SharePoint and use of Excel is expected.
  • Ability to organize and present accurate information in a logical sequence using textual vehicles, graphs, charts, tables and other illustrative devices.
