The Programs team , works alongside the other units in the business to reshape critical business processes across the West & Central Africa business and drive the digital adoption in the organization. They are involved in project/pilot management, business process management and continuous improvement, while providing insights and data-driven recommendations to the operations.

About the role:

The Inventory Associate specializing in inventory management, you will be overseeing and maintaining accurate records of phone inventory, contract booklets inventory, and marketing materials inventory in the warehouse. You will play a critical role in ensuring proper organization, tracking, and availability of these items within the warehouse. The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. smoothly.

What you would be expected to do:

  • Inventory Management:
  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments of phone inventory, contract booklets, and marketing materials.
  • Organize and maintain the inventory storage area to ensure easy accessibility, cleanliness, and proper labeling.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile physical stock with electronic records.
  • Identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective measures to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Monitor inventory levels, anticipate stock shortages, and coordinate with stakeholders for replenishment.
  • Efficiently execute PayG Phone enrolment and dispatch in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a system for tracking the movement of inventory, including transfers and returns.
  • Handle any damaged or defective items following established procedures.
  • Distribution and Fulfillment:
  • Prepare and package orders for shipment accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to fulfill requests for phone inventory, contract booklets, and marketing materials.
  • Ensure proper documentation and recording of outgoing inventory, maintaining a clear audit trail.
  • Work with the shipping department to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate shipments.
  • Quality Control and Compliance:
  • Conduct regular quality checks on incoming and outgoing inventory to ensure accuracy, condition, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and best practices for handling and storing inventory items.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to inventory management.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Generate regular reports on inventory status, including stock levels, discrepancies, and trends.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, such as packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Assist in the preparation of inventory-related reports for management review.
  • Communicate inventory-related issues and updates to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.

You might be a strong candidate if you:

  • Have Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent
  • Have at least 1 year proven experience in inventory management, preferably in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Are Familiar with inventory management systems and proficiency in using computerized inventory software.
  • Have good organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Are able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Have excellent communication and people skills to work well with team members and stakeholders.
  • Have a problem solving mentality and fix what’s broken mindset
  • Are excellent issue-tracking and resolution skills over long periods of time
