The IT Network Engineers are responsible for implementing and maintaining the LAN/WAN, voice, and video environments of the company.

Their role includes participation in daily upkeep and administration of the organization’s security and wireless infrastructure

MAIN ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

» Implement networking strategy for any innovation enhancing security and performance

» Analyze, troubleshoot and correct network problems remotely and on-site

» Maintain and administer perimeter security systems such as firewalls and intrusion detection system (as applicable)

» Network monitoring and reporting of availability and performance

» Management and maintenance of IP Addressing scheme for all sites in Nigeria

» Manage and monitor Service Level Agreement for service provisioning with Service Providers (this includes LAN and Wireless connections)

» Document and continuously update the network topology as it evolves

» Participate in periodic network security assessments

» Escalate WAN connectivity issues to Service Providers and follow up until such incident is resolved

» Maintenance of Data Centre Infrastructure at both the Head Office and other remote sites

» Participate in projects for major regional network initiatives (e.g. migrations, etc)

» Ensure optimal network performance according to agreed SLAs

» Encourage the use of Group Standard where applicable

» Manage IP Telephony and Video platforms

» Maintain user access rights on all VPN and Wi-Fi setup

» Stay abreast of latest network technology developments

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree of Higher National Diploma in Computer Science or other relevant field

• Minimum of CCNP certification

• Minimum of 6 years directly related work experience in network and security administration /engineering

• Working knowledge of data network technologies (including VPN, MPLS, Microwave and to a lesser extent VSAT)

• Working knowledge of networking protocols including but not limited to TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SNMP, DNS

• Working knowledge of Network hardware (preferably Cisco)

• Working knowledge of Cisco Call Manager

• Working knowledge of Data Centre Management

• Working knowledge of network security, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption technologies, etc.

• Working knowledge of Project Management principles
