Our client; an internationally recognized technical training company is looking to hire a HVAC Instructor who will develop course contents that will cover the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting of split air conditioning units, and industrial and commercial air conditioning systems. (their controls and application, steel tray fabrication, refrigerant gasses, copper pipe handling).

The HVAC instructor will conduct the following activities and responsibilities:

1. Training Delivery:

  • Conduct engaging and informative training sessions for AC technicians on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Split AC Units and Daikin VRV – X systems.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including classroom presentations, hands-on practical sessions, audio/video aids, and interactive discussions, to facilitate effective learning.

2. Content Development:

  • Collaborate with the curriculum development team to update and improve training materials, including PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and visual aids.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices related to VRV systems and incorporate them into the training content.
  • Update information and documentation on Learner Management System and online Knowledge Management system.

3. Practical Training:

  • Coordinate practical hands-on sessions using the Daikin-X VRV system located at the training facility.
  • Instruct trainees on the proper use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment required for installation and maintenance tasks for Split AC systems.
  • Safely handle brazing and refrigerant gasses

4. Individual and Group Instruction:

  • Provide one-on-one guidance and coaching to participants who may require additional support.
  • Facilitate team-building exercises to encourage collaboration and problem-solving among participants.

5. Assessment and Feedback:

  • Administer multiple-choice examinations and competency-based practical examinations to assess trainee understanding and skills.
  • Provide constructive feedback to participants, both during and after training sessions to enhance their learning experience.

6. Safety and Compliance:

  • Emphasize safety protocols related to handling high-pressure refrigerant gas, brazing works, and electrical works.
  • Ensure trainees are aware of safety measures when working with R32 refrigerant and other potentially hazardous components.

7. Certification and Recognition:

  • Assist trainees in preparing for the multiple-choice examination and practical assessment.
  • Verify trainees’ successful completion of the course.
  • Any other duties as designated by the line Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering graduate with a focus on Air Conditioning systems or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a practicing HVAC
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in using instructional tools, audio/video techniques, and interactive teaching methods.
  • Experience in curriculum development and updating training materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot VRV system-related issues.
  • Familiarity with safety guidelines for working with refrigerants and electrical components.
  • Patient, approachable, and able to adapt teaching methods to meet various learning styles.
  • Organizational skills to manage training schedule and handle practical sessions effectively.
