Job description: OverviewThe objective of the Human Resources (HR) Assistant position is to assist with recruitment, benefits and hiring actions. This includes but is not limited to; ensuring completion of employee’s documentation, HR administration and filing as well as documenting all performance actions. The HR Assistant will serve as the liaison between the field offices and head office for HR related activities. He/she will perform any other duties that may be assigned by the HR Officer.Please note that interested applicants substantiated as the subject of an investigation for misconduct (exploitation, abuse or harassment) are not eligible to apply.ResponsibilitiesAssist with staff recruitment by sending invitations, scheduling & participating in interviews, conducting reference check, informs job applicants of their acceptance or rejection for employmentAssist in reviewing salary history of selected candidates and prepare salary analysis for potential hires, sending offer to potential hires and updating the HR Officer with their response.Informing the Project Director and team members of joining dates of new hires and coordinate with other departments for necessary arrangements for orientationMaintain personnel records tracking employment history, confirmation, promotions, transfers, salary, and trainingIssuing of letter of employment and confirmation to newly employed staffVerification of certificates and follow-up on response from former employerEnsure that all documents in respect of new employees are received in good time to facilitate prompt confirmation of appointmentUpdating the HR databaseReview timesheets for errors and correctnessProcess of staff benefits such as health insurance and life/accident insurance planServe as the liaison between field offices and head office for HR related activitiesConduct terror check for new hiresCollect approved leave form for filing and timesheet confirmationDraft correspondence for and on behalf of MSH staffAnd any other duties that may be assigned from time to timeQUALIFICATIONSQualificationsMinimum of Bachelor’s Degree/HND in Human Resources Management, Business Management, Psychology, Law, or Social AdministrationMinimum of 2 years’ experience in Human Resources Management, including recruitment and personnel managementMinimum of 1 year experience working with an INGOMust be a member of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, NigeriaGood organizational and interpersonal skillsGood verbal and written communications, teamwork and collaborating abilitiesDemonstrated excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability to work independently with initiative to manage high volume and sensitive workflow.Ability to understand comprehensive information.Basic numeracy and IT skills required for operating various systems.Ability to interpret, analyze, and explain the official framework employment regulation.Good negotiating and influencing skills in implementing personnel policiesAbility to research, evaluate and analyze new recruitment techniques, methods, and procedures.Ability to work alone on a broad variety of projectsDemonstrated ability to handle confidential matters discreetly and gain the trust and confidence of colleagues; experience in conflict resolution helpfulCompetences to assess priorities, manage a variety of complex activities simultaneously in a time-sensitive environment, and meet competing deadlinesProven ability to successfully participate on teams in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated integrity, confidentiality and approachabilityMSH is an equal opportunity employer and will not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment on the basis of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender or gender identity, religion, creed, citizenship, national origin, age, veteran status, or disability unrelated to job requirements.
