  • Audit of financial statements that have been prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), NGAAP and other valid standards.
  • Review of accounting and internal control systems.
  • Consulting on accounting principles, the chart of accounts and organization of finance and accounting departments.
  • Comprehensive advice on implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards, including interpretation and application of complex standards.
  • Assistance with the establishment of reporting departments.
  • Advisory services for the calculation of employee benefits, impairment of assets, provisions for asset retirement obligations and other long-term provisions.
  • Assistance with business valuations, valuation of assets and liabilities and determination of goodwill in accordance with IFRS.

Job DescriptionSummary of Role
Managing and analyzing the company’s costs to ensure effective financial planning and control.Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual and adhoc management accounts.
  • Preparation of separate and consolidated financial statements in line with IFRS
  • Review of monthly Balance Sheet schedules and presentation of review comments
  • Ad-hoc analysis & reporting as advised by management.
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s comprehensive financial reporting strategy aligned with Company’s objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in audit and assurance, accounting consulting, and preparation of IFRS financial statements with at least three (3) years in a supervisory role, in oil and gas industry
  • Practical Knowledge of IFRS
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division in Accounting, finance, or a related field required.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on cost control and cost accounting
  • Qualified Accountant (ICAN, ACCA)
  • Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across departments.
