Our client is a Financial Technology company and they are looking to employ a Finance Manager.

JOB SUMMARY

The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing and analyzing everyday financial activities, subsequently providing advice and guidance to management to meet the Company’s objectives and making best business decisions on future financial plans. Provide financial reports and develop strategies based on financial research, responsible for the budget planning, reviewing financial reports, monitoring accounts and preparing financial forecasts.

  • Manage the budgeting process and general long-term financial planning (including cash flow forecasting)
  • Coordinate financial reporting efforts to ensure timely and accurate production of financial results.
  • Liaise with external Auditors for annual financial audits and preparation of statutory financial statements.
  • Support compliance team to ensure they conform with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure all tax filings are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Build relationships with existing and prospective bank partners to optimize processing costs and other related services.
  • Ensure all statutory entities VAT/Corporate Tax/PAYE/WHT accounts are reconciled.
  • Automate existing & future finance team tools to minimize manual updating & inputs to dramatically increase team efficiency
  • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.
  • Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take.
  • Maintain the financial health of the organization.
  • Develop trends and projections for the firm’s finances.
  • Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
  • Daily Bank reconciliation
  • Raise entries for Daily, Weekly and Monthly postings
  • Review the Trial Balance Daily, Weekly and Monthly
  • Prepare and maintain Fixed Asset Register monthly
  • Review Assets, Liabilities, Income and Expenditures daily
  • Supervise petty cash transactions
  • Prepare weekly report/metrics
  • Prepare Monthly/Quarterly and yearly budget
  • Carryout variance analysis (Budget & Actual)
  • Prepare Monthly Management Account (Profit & Loss, Balance sheet etc.)
  • Prepare CBN Monthly report
  • Prepare Cashflow statement
  • Reconcile repayment to determine aging report (Performance)
  • Prepare and review Prepayment schedule, Accrual, Accrued expenses and provision ledgers
  • Attend to external auditors
  • Liaise with Tax consultants
  • Attend to FIRS, LIRS and other statutory bodies
  • Train, mentor and coach team members.

REQUIREMENTS

  • First Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in an accounting or finance position in a financial services organization or regulated company environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant IFRS accounting standards.
  • Qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CFA, CPA etc.).
