Job description: Our client is managing one of the leading five star properties in the West African region and is currently looking for a dynamic Executive Chef to lead the culinary team from the front – please note that this role is very much hands on, working on the floor with his / her team. Key attributes for candidates :
- Formal qualifications – City and Guilds or equivalent
- Currently working in 5*property with over 350 rooms and multi f&b outlets plus banqueting for over 1000 guests, as Executive Chef
- Good business acumen and sound guest contact skills
- Preferred age 40 – 50 max
- Prior African experience essential in 5* properties
- Used to working in hardship or remote locations
- Stable track record with stays of 2 years plus, at recent employers
- Excellent mentor and trainer, firm but fair
- Self starter who thinks on their feet
- Great improvisation skills
- Prior multi F&B outlet experience, used to large volume operations
- Solid all rounder with good banqueting skills
- Creative and comfortable working with a multi cultural team
