iMMAP France is a non for profit organization that provides information management services to humanitarian and development organizations. Through information management, we help our partners target assistance to the world’s most vulnerable populations ad we support local authorities and institutions to enhance their capacities and become autonomous in their internal data and information management activities.

Scope of work

The Country Security and Logistics Coordinator supervises the safety, security and logistics of all iMMAP France personnel and operations. The Country Security and Logistics Coordinator will work in close coordination with the HQ Security and Operations functions and will be line managed by the Country Representative in Nigeria. The role shall ensure to implement and maintain highest standards of security and contingency planning in order to ensure the safety of all personnel in Country. In addition, the role is in charge of all procurement and asset management activities for a smooth running of iMMAP France operations in Country. In Nigeria iMMAP France is the hosting agency of the Nigeria INGO Forum. The duties described cover the hosting responsibility to the Nigeria INGO Forum personnel and operations.

Description of Duties

Security and safety

  • Monitor the security situation in Nigeria, conduct risk assessments, provide contextual updates,
  • Provide sound and timely advice to personnel and management on safety and security matters,
  • Maintain contacts with local and national authorities and international state and non-state actors, compiling threat analysis, incident reports and contextual update,
  • Liaise and coordinate timely and efficiently with the Country Representative regarding security incidents, threats or deficiencies which potential could affect operations,
  • Ensure the implementation of safety and security policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs),
  • Develop security plans and keep them updated, ensure that they are well understood by all personnel,
  • Provide security clearances before travel of personnel and monitor travel in country,
  • Conduct security briefing for all personnel in country,
  • Manage residency and visas requests for expatriate personnel.

Logistics

  • Ensure that all logistics & procurement policies are understood and respected,
  • Conduct all procurements required for office and guesthouses as well as for programmatic activities,
  • Manage offices and guest house space in Maidiguri,
  • Ensure proper asset management through regular update of asset register, assets identification labelling etc.
  • Ensure that guesthouse and offices are well equipped with required furniture, electricity and internet, plus maintenance are given when needed.
  • Manage and supervise all necessary repairs and maintenance in the office and Guest house,
  • Manage fleet

Other tasks

  • Support any required administrative process as required by the Country Representative or HQ.

Requirements

Experience

  • Considerable practical experience of managing security in complex contexts and high-risk environments;
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of working in the safety, security and logistics sector
  • Experience in working with INGOs and humanitarian sector is an asset
  • Experience inconducting contextual updates

Soft skills

  • Ability to interact effectively with international and national personnel,
  • Ability to work well in a small team, operate under pressure, prioritize and deliver high quality work within deadlines, and meet team objectives,
  • Problem solving capacity,
  • Fluency in English is required
