Job Profile

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join their team. As the COO, you will exercise supreme responsibility and provide management, leadership, and vision to ensure the organization meets its short-term and long-term objectives. Your primary focus will be on the plant retail, flower and landscape business. Additionally, you will play a

pivotal role in creating enduring policies and a company culture that strengthens operational efficiency and generates revenue. The COO will enforce our client’s mission with lower ranking staff, fostering a culture of operational excellence and driving the achievement of business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans and initiatives to drive growth and achieve business objectives in the plant retail, flower, and landscape businesses.

• Exercise supreme responsibility in providing management, leadership, and vision to the organization.

• Create enduring policies and a company culture that strengthens operational efficiency and generates revenue.

• Collaborate with the executive team to define the overall company strategy and align business operations accordingly.

• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the plant retail, flower, and landscape businesses, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.

• Manage and optimize the supply chain, including procurement, inventory management, and logistics, to ensure timely and cost effective delivery of products and services.

• Develop and implement quality control measures and standards to maintain the highest level of product quality and customer satisfaction.

• Establish and monitor operational budgets, and implement cost control measures to maximize profitability

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operations with sales, marketing, finance, and customer service functions

• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, vendors, and business partners.

• Provide management, leadership, and vision to the organization, ensuring the achievement of short-term and long-term objectives.

• Lead and mentor a team of managers and employees, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment

• Provide guidance, support, and performance feedback to the operations team, promoting professional development and growth

• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)

• Proven experience as a Chief Operating Officer or in a similar leadership role, preferably in the plant retail, flower, or landscape industry

• Strong understanding of plant retail, flower, and landscape business operations, including sales, distribution, procurement, and supply chain management

• Proven track record of driving business growth and operational excellence

• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business goals into actionable plans and initiatives

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions

• Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

• Proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a focus on achieving and exceeding targets

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
