Job description: JOB PURPOSE
CCCM Monitor will carry out daily site monitoring visit in camp/camp like settings, including the host communities. He or she will conduct data collections through FGDs, and community/Household surveys in the targeted areas of operation as well as carry out community mobilization, communication with communities and awareness raising.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain linkages with border officials and prepare notes on movements of asylum seekers/refugees in the areas of responsibility.
- Prepare and submit list of asylum seeker/refugee new arrivals, conduct community mobilization and support UNHCR in the registration activities.
- Conduct interviews with asylum seekers/refugee/individual cases, document concerns raised, follow up on cases with special needs and make appropriate referrals.
- Liaise closely with local leaders (SEMA, Bulamas, Lawans, Ajias) and services providers in the project sites to foster effective collaboration.
- Carry out community mobilization, collection of information/data about vulnerability, protection needs and concerns of the asylum seekers/refugees.
- Monitor service delivery in communities hosting asylum seekers/refugees and update supervisor on gaps/needs identified to inform advocacy efforts.
- Provide contributions to preparation of reports (including flash updates, weekly, monthly and end of project reports).
- Participate in CCCM coordination meetings and take minutes, needs assessments, and collaborate with other service providers in the project sites.
- Carry out awareness raising and sensitization on different topics among the asylum seekers/refugees.
- Conduct information sessions through meetings, FGDs and record feedback and report result back to supervisor on issues of concern with recommended areas of intervention.
- Manage implementation of activities including Complaint Feedback and Response Mechanism in the Mobile CCCM Desk and follow up on community participation.
- Provide interpretation and translation services in local dialects when and as required.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma.
- Degree in sociology and/or Laws is an advantage.
- Minimum 3 years professional experience in humanitarian service (especially CCCM) provision required.
- Experience in refugee programme is an asset.
- Fluency in spoken and written English (Mandatory), local dialect necessary.
- Adhere to all INTERSOS core values, policies, and procedures both technical and administrational and protection principles.
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, & Emails – outlook).
- Communication, facilitation, and reporting skills required.
- Capacity to work under pressure, flexibility.
- Act as an ambassador for INTERSOS Nigeria, through professionalism and conduct.
