JOB OVERVIEW

Our Client, a digital trust infrastructure company in Africa, is seeking to hire is looking to seeking a talented and experienced Mid-Level Laravel/PHP Backend Developer to join their development team. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5-6 years of professional experience in Laravel and PHP development.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Develop, maintain, and optimize server-side code for web applications using Laravel and PHP.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, technical specifications, and architecture design.

• Design and develop RESTful APIs to enable seamless integration with front end components and external systems.

• Build and maintain efficient and secure database schemas, queries, and data access layers.

• Implement and integrate third-party services, libraries, and APIs as required.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, following coding standards and best practices.

• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure code quality and adherence to project guidelines.

• Troubleshoot and debug issues, identify performance bottlenecks, and propose effective solutions.

• Collaborate with the testing team to ensure adequate test coverage and participate in the resolution of bugs and issues.

• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in backend development and propose their integration into projects when applicable.

• Collaborate with project managers to estimate project timelines, identify risks, and suggest improvements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

• Minimum of 5-6 years of professional experience in Laravel and PHP development.

• Strong proficiency in PHP and experience with Laravel framework.

• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts and design patterns.

• Experience with developing and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Proficiency in database management systems such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.

• Familiarity with front end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to debug and resolve complex technical issues.

• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.

• Knowledge of security best practices in web development.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Experience with other PHP frameworks, such as Symphony or CodeIgniter Is a plus.
