About Company: Our client is a fast-growing Retail Chain for basic groceries with strong financial resources which is going to change the retail market in Nigeria.
The Company is seeking to hire an experienced and resourceful Accountant for the position of an Assistant Regional Accountant within the organisation.
Job Objectives: This role will guarantee that the region’s accounting/financial information is recorded in a reliable and timely manner, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and approve the accounting records generated, ensuring their integrity and reasonableness.
Daily reconcile the information from the regional stores regarding the collection between the NetSuite and POS systems, in order for them to be consistent and report if there are differences.
Control balances and cash movements in stores.
Keep accounting books updated, ensuring that accounting records are reliable, timely and reasonable.
Carry out the accounting closing within the established deadlines, complying with the processes related to it.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements/reports related to regional accounting.
Plan, carry out and present the report on news on cash counts of sales and cash reserves of stores.
Cooperate with other departments in the preparation of reports that allow controls to be carried out and possible risks to be determined.
Comply with the delivery of documentation necessary to obtain local, and state permits, as well as requirements made by National.
Record the purchase, sale and disposal of fixed assets based on internal control policies and established accounting procedures.
Issue sales receipts for non-operational income and provision of services.
Carry out physical inventories of fixed assets at points of sales and ensure proper reconciliation to NetSuite.
Manage accounting and tax documentation.
Coordinates your staff’s vacation plans.
Requirements
First degree in Finance or Accounting related fields
Must be a qualified and chartered accountant preferably (ACA, ACCA)
4-5 years of experience in a Finance Manager or supervisor role in the Retail/FMCG sector is desired
Strong knowledge of IFRS and relevant accounting principles is a must
Previous experience with the implementation of financial systems and controls is required.
Notable P & L and balance sheet analysis skill
Excellent People Management skills
Excellent communication and presentation skill
Strong negotiation and analytical skill

Compensation: Pay is N7.02m Annual Gross + Other benefits
