Lingard, a Manchester United academy graduate, left Old Trafford in 2022 after his contract expired.
The 31-year-old had a forgettable campaign with Nottingham Forest last season, released again last summer and remains a free agent.
The former England international has been linked with moves to Saudi Arabia while Everton and Barcelona have also been credited with interest in his services.
But according to the Daily Mail, Lingard, who is working with new agents, has now been offered to MLS club Portland Timbers.
Lingard recently binned off his previous representatives over their failure to find him a new club.
He made a total of 232 appearances for the Red Devils, producing 35 goals and 21 assists.
Lingard shared a series of images of himself working out in the gym last week, catching the attention of United legend Paul Scholes who savagely commented: ‘Are you gonna f**k about in the gym or are you actually gonna play football?’
Since becoming a free agent after leaving Forest, Lingard trained with West Ham, where he enjoyed an excellent loan spell, and Al-Ettifaq under Steven Gerrard in Saudi Arabia but failed to agree a contract with either side.
He finished last season with just two goals and two assists for Forest under Steve Cooper, none of those coming in the Premier League where he started just 12 games.
