Jeremy Clarkson headed to a town hall meeting with villagers to address concerns about his Diddly Squat farm shop.

The Grand Tour presenter was pictured heading to Chadlington Memorial Hall ahead of the meeting, which took place at 7pm on Thursday.

The meeting was to discuss worries about traffic created by his shop which appears on his hit TV show Clarkson’s Farm.

Jeremy, 61, said he there to put ‘gossip’ to rest by telling residents himself what was going on.

According to Sky News he said: ‘I’m just here to listen.

‘Gossip spreads in villages and they don’t know what we’re doing so I thought, the best thing I can do is come down and say: “This is what we’re doing,’ and then it isn’t gossip any more.”‘

Posters went around the area in Oxfordshire saying: ‘As there seems to be some debate in the village about what’s going on at Diddly Squat, Jeremy Clarkson will be at the Memorial Hall to explain his plans and to take any questions you may have,’ the flyer read.

The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? host happily stopped for pictures with fans who were waiting outside for him to arrive.

Farmer Kaleb Cooper, who appears in Clarkson’s Farm helping the car enthusiast set up his venture, was also present for the meeting.

In June, police were called out to the site after huge queues formed near the farm, with some queuing up for two-and-a-half hours to get inside the Diddly Squat shop after the launch of the show.

Clarkson serves food and drinks at his farm shop, applying for a licence to sell alcohol and provide entertainment earlier this year and requesting to convert a lambing shed adjacent to the shop into a café last year.
